In this whitepaper we demonstrate the capabilities of SIMULIA’s Lattice-Boltzmann (LBM) to predict aeroacoustic noise emissions from a representative fan/stator turbomachine configuration. Results from three different engine configurations at three operating points are presented, and the acoustic impact of realistic manufacturing conditions of the fan are also studied. The aeroacoustics simulation results show very good agreement with experimental results, obtaining tonal and broadband emission noise levels in a single simulation.
